2003

The 2003 Syndromic Surveillance Workshop was held from October 20-22, 2003 in New York City (NYC). During the workshop, staff from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) described the workings of NYC’s syndromic surveillance system in detail, from data acquisition through analysis and investigation. Guest lecturers also presented the state-of-the-art in data standards, public health informatics, and national data sources. Over 100 public health practitioners from around the world contributed their insights and experiences to the workshop.
