2009-2010 Membership Information


The International Society for Disease Surveillance (ISDS) is dedicated to the improvement of population health by advancing the field of disease surveillance. The Society convenes the pre-eminent annual conference on surveillance methods and applications, maintains the syndromic.org website, and directs the Distribute surveillance project.


Membership in the International Society for Disease Surveillance is open to epidemiologists, informaticists, public health practitioners, health care providers, statisticians, and others who are interested in exploring and addressing population health monitoring across institutional and professional boundaries.



*Important Changes in Membership for the 2009-2010 Year:
Beginning with the conference in December 2009, ISDS membership will no longer be equivalent with attendance at the conference. Individuals can now purchase a membership separately, or as part of their conference registration. We are making this change to better define our membership and to ensure that we can provide members with an enhanced level of benefits Membership runs from Jan 1 to Dec 31. Individuals who buy a membership now will be members through Dec 31, 2010 and immediately eligible for all membership benefits, including discounted conference registration.

All individuals who attended the ISDS conference in December 2008 are currently ISDS members, as are all individuals who specifically paid for membership online starting in December 2008. If you are unsure about your membership status, please contact info@syndromic.org.
