Question: What is the difference between last year’s abstract submission system and this year’s system?

Answer: We are using the ScholarOne system for abstract submissions this year. Authors will not be required to format their abstracts. The new system requires that each section of your abstract be composed (or cut and pasted) into the system as plain text according to the instructions.  You may need to plan on additional time to go through the submission process.

Abstracts will later be formatted and typeset for publication in the Emerging Health Threats Journal. Authors will have the opportunity to view and approve the abstracts before publication.

Please click here to go to the ISDS ScholarOne website to start the submission process.

Question: I submitted my abstract as an oral presentation, but it was selected as a poster. What does this mean?

Answer: When submitting your abstract, you must choose to submit (1) an oral presentation or (2) a poster presentation. However, the Scientific Programming Committee reserves the right accept an abstract for the presentation type that will best meet the conference goals and program scheduling. If you have received notification that your presentation has been selected to be presented in a format other than your requested format, you will have the option to accept or decline the invitation.
