This project will recommend Public Health Syndromic Surveillance (PHSS) guidelines that support public health authorities in using certified hospital inpatient and ambulatory EHR data for timely and effective public health prevention and response. The recommendations will be used by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) to clarify the public health surveillance measure in future Meaningful Use stages.
